Pfizer Inc. says it will provide 70 of its most widely prescribed prescription drugs — including Lipitor and Viagra — for free to people who have lost their jobs and health insurance.
This is a great gesture. However, remember that these companies are now trying to appear to be "good citizens" because President Obama has called their bluff. They, together with doctors, insurance companies and hospitals, have been ripping off the public for years. Do not be fooled by this type of program, nor those incredible (and laudable) social assistance programs. If you are in the United States you have been abused by these companies. Let's make sure that these drugs (and all medicines) are accessible to everyone, no matter how much money they have, ALL THE TIME. We need health care reform NOW.
